HYC Jr. Sailing Committee Co-Chair – and – HYC Commodore
Iris is one of the Co-Chairs of the HYC Junior Sailing Program. Iris is a year-round sailor: J88 and big-boat sailing from Spring, Summer, and Fall; and Laser and Melges 15 in the off-season. Iris finds time to campaign her J88 on Long Island Sound, the Midwest, the West Coast, and the Southeast. Then, she attends several Melges 15 regattas in Florida over the winter and fits in the rest of her winter Sundays racing her Radial in Huguenot's frostbite program from November to the end of March.
Iris hosts Jr. Sailors, 14 y.o. and older, in the Youth Challenge Series all summer.
At Huguenot YC, Iris is the driving force behind the Junior Sailing program and the Laser Frostbite Fleet: instrumental in growing both programs from floundering to flourishing … she also finds time to be the club’s Commodore.
The Jr. Sailing Program wouldn't be what it is today without Iris.

HYC Jr Sailing Committee appreciates all the hard work and perseverance of the sailors, parents, and coaches through the Summer of 2024; This Summer we hope to "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, spread joy up to the maximum, and bring gloom down to the minimum." -- same as last year ????
The first Open House for registration will be Sunday, January 26th, 2025, from 1 pm to 4 pm. Super Earlybird will be discounts for all who register by Monday.
