Admission Requirements

Our program accepts children between 8 and 16 years old (A student’s age on December 31, 2022, shall be considered his/her age for the program). Intro to Sailing is open to 6 years old and up.
Swimming Ability:
Basic swimming skills are a requirement. Each child will be given a swim test at the beginning of each session.
Membership:
Huguenot Yacht Club does not require prior membership to enroll in our program; during the program, non-member families enjoy the use of our Club House and dining facilities.
Safety Inspection:
All privately owned boats must pass our safety inspection during the week before the program begins.
Register Early:
Enrollment is limited to 40 boys and girls per session between the ages of 8 and 16. Huguenot Yacht Club has a limited number of boats available for charter on a first-come, first-served basis if you don't have your own boat.

HYC Jr Sailing Committee appreciates all the hard work and perseverance of the sailors, parents, and coaches through the Summer of 2022; This Summer we plan hope to "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, spread joy up to the maximum, and bring gloom down to the minimum." (paraphrasing Bing Crosby).
The first Open House for registration will be Sunday, January 29th, 2023, from 1 pm to 4 pm. There will be discounts for all who register by January 30th.
The second Open House for registration will be Sunday, March 5th, 2023, from 1 pm to 4 pm. There will be somewhat smaller discounts for all who register by March 6th.
We look forward to seeing you all again next Summer.
