HYC JS CIT AND JI's REQUISITES

 

Councilor in Training (CIT):

  • 14-15 years old
  •  
  • At least one year of sailing program completed
  •  
  • Parent’s permission
  •  
  • Approved by Sailing Director or Program Chair
  •  
  • Eligible to work during early drop off / late pick up (paid position)
  •  
  • Eligible to become a Junior Instructor
  •  
  • CITs pay full tuition for the sailing program

 

Junior Instructor (J.I.):

  • 16 years old in a given calendar year
  •  
  • One year of CIT completed
  •  
  • Parent’s permission
  •  
  • Approved by Sailing Director or Program Chair
  •  
  • Eligible to work during early drop off/ late pick up (paid position)
  •  
  • J.I.s pay ½ tuition for the sailing program, expected to assist instructors ½ days.​​​​​​​
  •  
  • J.I.s will be reimbursed ½ the cost of Level 1 and Safe Powerboat Handling training upon completion and passing the courses
