To JSA of LIS member program leaders,
Like you, the JSA is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation.
We understand that your junior programs are navigating difficult waters today, along with the families who are planning to enroll their children in your programs. JSA wants to understand your questions and concerns, which will help us coordinate a cooperative response to this challenge. Therefore, beginning next week we’ll start contacting each JSA member program to ask for input about your planning.
At this moment, summer events on the JSA calendar remain as scheduled, but may need to be modified based on your input.
However, certain training courses through mid-April have already been postponed or cancelled, including many US Sailing instructor courses and SUNY Maritime powerboat courses. The current calendar of certification courses in the Long Island Sound region may be viewed here.
We remain hopeful that healthy days are ahead,

HYC Jr Sailing Committee appreciates all the hard work and perseverance of the sailors, parents, and coaches through the Summer of 2023; This Summer we hope to "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, spread joy up to the maximum, and bring gloom down to the minimum." -- same as last year ????
The first Open House for registration will be Sunday, January 28th, 2024, from 1 pm to 4 pm. There will be discounts for all who register by Monday.
The second Open House for registration will be Sunday, March 3th, 2024, from 1 pm to 4 pm. There will be somewhat smaller discounts for all who register by Monday..
We look forward to seeing you all again this Summer.
